Cover Letters That Get Read

Brandy in North Carolina sent her question to us from LinkedIn. She wants to know how she can write a cover letter that will get read. Be different, do whatever job seekers are not doing. Don’t cookie cut your cover letters. One thing you can consider doing is instead of sending your cover letter via email type it, print it out and mail it. Think of it this way, when you get mail out of the mailbox and you see a legal size envelope and a small square shape envelope. Which one would you open first? Why No Response After Follow Up Letter

Why no response after I sent a follow up? The purpose of the follow up due to a job application or an interview. If you followed up after a job application and sent it by email the issue maybe what you put in the subject line. If your statement in the subject line is general and not something that will make the reader want to open the email, that’s what you’ll get (delete) not read.
